What The Folk

What The Folk is an independent creative space in Caldas da Rainha where specialty coffee sits alongside ceramics and tattoo art. Located on Rua da Alegria, this distinctive studio brings together coffee lovers, artists and people interested in making things by hand. Founded by Afonso Mota and Shannon O’Callaghan, the project grew from their shared creative ambitions and their experience working in coffee in London.

Beyond the café, visitors can discover ceramic work and explore hands-on pottery workshops, including wheel throwing and hand-building. It is a place to enjoy specialty coffee while experiencing a different side of the local creative scene.
