Cups Rating™ is our independent editorial evaluation; it is separate from community engagement signals such as Hearts.

3 Cups — Very Good

How We Evaluate

Coffee quality

The cup itself — flavour, freshness and consistency across visits.

Preparation and extraction

Dial-in, technique and control behind espresso and filter brewing.

Coffee selection

Depth and sourcing of the beans on offer.

Service and hospitality

How the place treats the people who walk in.

Overall experience

Atmosphere, space and the reason to come back.

Independent by design

Our editorial ratings are not available for purchase. A café's Cups Rating™ is assigned by our editorial team based on our evaluation criteria — not by advertising, listing status, or any other commercial relationship.

Community Hearts

Hearts are a separate community engagement signal. They show which places coffee lovers appreciate, save and support. They do not replace the Cups Rating™ or represent the editorial evaluation.

Cups Rating™ tells you how we evaluated it.
Hearts tell you how much the community loves it.
