Liberty: brunch, coffee and books is an independent café concept in the Lisbon area combining specialty coffee, brunch, books and carefully curated music. Founded by Anna Aleshkovskaia and Yuriy Gushchin, Liberty began in the Madragoa neighbourhood with the aim of creating a welcoming meeting place for locals and travellers.
Its offering extends beyond coffee to a hand-picked book collection, cultural events and a relaxed, pet-friendly atmosphere. The brand operates two locations: Santos in Lisbon and Parede near the Atlantic coast. Whether visiting for brunch, a coffee or a glass of natural wine, Liberty brings food, books and neighbourhood culture together.

Your Story
Liberty began in Santos, Lisbon, as a café and a bookshop in one, then opened by the sea in Parede. Modern breakfast, brunch and lunch all day, made to the highest standards: fusion cuisine (syrniki, Benedicts and more) and specialty coffee from our own roast. #57 in Europe's 100 Best Coffee Shops 2026; Solete by Guia Repsol.
About The Space
In Santos, the café and the bookshop share one room, with hand-picked books in several languages to browse over coffee. In Parede, all seating is indoors, in a room with a direct view of the ocean. Both cafés are open every day, with no reservations, and dogs are welcome inside.
