Discover the Allure of Le Levain Café in Rome's New Location

Embark on a culinary journey at Le Levain Café, an iconic boulangerie-pâtisserie in Rome's Trastevere district, now making its mark at 8 Via Piave, starting Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023. With nine years of success behind it, this new location, nestled near Piazza Fiume in the Sallustian district, promises a unique blend of French tradition and the culinary expertise of chef Giuseppe Solfrizzi, rooted in his Apulian origins.

A Fusion of Culinary Traditions:

Le Levain Café, renowned for its fusion of French tradition and Apulian flavors, unveils its new location, maintaining the successful format that captivated patrons on Via Luigi Santini. The venture continues to be a testament to Chef Giuseppe Solfrizzi's culinary prowess, offering a delectable array of pastries, savory gastronomy, and now, specialty coffees from Picapau, a distinguished Roman roasting company dedicated to the pursuit of the highest quality coffee since 2019.

A Coffee Experience with Picapau:

A significant novelty at the new location is the collaboration with Picapau, where patrons can savor specialty coffees curated by Emanuele Bernabei, the founder of the brand and a partner in this exciting project. The partnership also includes Francesca Vittozzi, a seasoned employee of the boulangerie, and John Di Gironimo, another key member of the Picapau team.

A Culinary Haven:

With approximately 30 covers, the new Le Levain Café on Piave Street welcomes patrons to an enchanting space. Upon entering, a dedicated corner for specialty coffee, adorned with pink cups, beckons enthusiasts. The journey continues through an array of pastries, savory delicatessen delights, and an open laboratory dedicated to gastronomy—a distinctive feature of the new location.

Elegant Ambiance and Comfort:

To the right of the counter is an elegantly designed hall, characterized by large windows, minimalistic yet dynamic décor, wooden tables, and colorful chairs. The architectural brilliance behind the facility is credited to Silvia Guzzini of Studio b15a. Solfrizzi notes the deliberate choice of a location that caters to diverse customers, including tourists, offices, and residents between Piazza Fiume, Nomentano, and Salario.

Gastronomic Offerings:

Le Levain Café's proposal is centered around artisanal boulangerie, viennoiserie, and pâtisserie products crafted with exceptional quality raw materials—a philosophy that defines the essence of Le Levain. The menu boasts an array of delectable options, from the ever-present croissant in whole wheat and gianduja versions to chausson aux pommes, madeleines, tarts, pain au raisin, carrot cake, various brioches, and iconic single-
portion cakes like Moana.

Savory Delights:

For those inclined toward savory indulgences, Le Levain Café offers a tantalizing selection, including croque monsieur, rustics, stuffed rolls, quiches, and stuffed baguettes. The culinary ensemble is a testament to Le Levain's commitment to excellence, where each bite is a celebration of artistry and quality.

The Perfect Location:

Solfrizzi highlights the strategic choice of location, emphasizing the expanded seating capacity and enhanced comfort compared to the Trastevere counterpart. The absence of a dehors is compensated by large windows, creating an ambiance that offers a sense of being outdoors.

Le Levain Café in Rome's new location is not just a boulangerie-pâtisserie; it's a continuation of a culinary legacy that promises excellence and innovation. With a focus on crafting unforgettable experiences, Le Levain Café invites patrons to indulge in the extraordinary fusion of French and Apulian flavors, now accentuated by the rich offerings of Picapau's specialty coffees.
