New Ground Coffee
Simon House, Workshop R/O, 2 Windmill Rd, Oxford OX3 7BU
NewGround started when a couple of mates wanted to really enjoy every single cup of coffee. They wanted to source new and exceptional specialty coffees, and help drive the growing coffee culture in Oxford and The UK. They also wanted to use the business to help tackle a social injustice. It's well known that prisoners are much more likely to reoffend after release if they are without training and jobs. So a business that creates opportunities has to help, right? They think so, and that’s what keeps them motivated every day. That and sourcing and roasting some of the world’s finest coffees. Here, expertly crafted coffee meets social responsibility. New pushes boundaries. It is thinking differently about what has come before and never settling for the
ordinary. At NewGround this is at the heart of everything they do. From their ethically sourced high-grade coffee, carefully selected from small-scale farms around the world, to theirr state-of-the-art facilities where they roast each batch to reveal new exciting flavours every time. But they believe coffee can go beyond the cup and can be used as a catalyst for change right there in their very own communities. This is why they use their business to create work and training opportunities for ex-offenders across the UK, giving some of the most overlooked people in society a new beginning.
